Congratulations to my sisters Sophie and Christine! They both got honors in their second grading. Superb! My parents cannot make it at their academic convocation, which they have every quarter, due to prior commitments. And so I had to go up on stage! Imagine my grief (well not really grief.. but more of nahihiya and proud! Hahaha!) standing next to my over achieving sisters!! Sophie got 1st honors while Tin got 3rd honors with matching extra curricular awards which includes being a member of the debate team and winning quiz bees here and there!

I'm never a fan of lipsticks. My lips are chapped, most of the time, and wearing lipsticks tend to make it more chapped. One day, while at the mall, I chanced upon the 4u2 booth at Watsons. Flashback 2009, it's the same make up brand where I bought my forever adorable pressed powder which works like wonder!! I never really planned on buying anything. But the sign says "SALE!", so off I go!! Their lip stick shades look good. I tried the nude shade, the one that mimics my normal lip color and lo & behold, I LOVED IIITTTTTTT!!
It doesn't make my lips dry plus it gives me the perfect pop of color even when I have a bare face!

One of my favorite cousin, Fred, gave me this CD when we met in Katipunan last August. He was insisting that I watch Hachiko, A Dog Story because it moved him daw. Just so you know, I am not a big lover of animals, dogs and cats in particular, so I skipped Hachiko and instead watched Everybody's Fine.

Starring Robert de Niro, Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell and Drew Barrymore, Everybody's Fine is your typical Christmas dramedy. As usual, De Niro's acting was moving. He dialed it down and won me over! I was emotionally drawn in, from start to finish. I was crying the whole time. The movie works because what you see on screen resonates with the viewers. Go ahead and watch it!

(this is my 8th phone I guess) 2330 is a living witness to every heart to heart text conversations I had with my friends and family. It receives my Bianca Gonzalez ktxt updates, too! But like what they say, you have to make space for better things.

November 1.
Went to the cemetery with the Pelagio family!! It was really good to be reunited with some of my cousins. We've ventured out on our own careers and it's really nice to just sit down and catch up. (Even if catching up means sleeping together Hahaha)

I was close to tears when we visited my paternal grandparents' grave. I miss them so much. Lola was my earliest teacher while Lolo was the one who constantly checks on my academic standing in school! I miss you both! May the good Lord grant them eternal rest. :)

November 2 & 3.
Attended the BLS Training at Red Cross with Kuya, Elaine & Kristy! Day 1 was solely for lecture while Day 2 was for practicals. Just so you know, I should have taken this training a few months back, if not for the UAAP fever that I caught! Almost everyone I know had their certificates already so I was really itching for it be over. As I would like to put it 'one at a time". So I studied well for the exam, may be a bit too well to get a perfect score! I was surprised when Sir Andrew announced "May naka-perfect". I wasn't really expecting but when he called out "Jessica.... Pelagio? Sino 'to?" I couldn't help but grin. Thank you Lord! The practicals was quite a laugh trip. The counting for the rescue breathing and chest compressions are confusing! Yung tipong alam na alam mo pag nagppractice kayo, pero pag nasa harap mo na yung dummy and instructor, your mind goes blank. Good thing, we all passed. :) That reminds me, I have yet to get my certificate and license!!
Within that week, I got a call from a neighbor, asking me if I can tutor her grade 7 son. I liked the idea of teaching so I gamely agreed. I am helping Ivan, my tutee, with his Math and Science, not really my favorite and best subjects during high school but I'm trying my best! I think I'll keep up with this part time job until December. Next year's a busy one!!
The next week, Papa played with the idea of taking a 4-day vacation to Leyte this December. A good friend of his invited us over for their fiesta celebration!!! The last time I checked, we are already booked. By us, I mean me and Paps! Mams has her own trip scheduled while the sibs are school-stucked until then. I hope everything works out!!!
Also within that week, my uncle, Tito Rene surprised me with the news that he is sending me money as a graduation slash board exam success gift!!!!! I cannot believe it! I couldn't thank him enough. :)
On a totally unrelated note, I am going crazy over make-up!!!! Last week, when I did the grocery with my little brother Biboy, I sneaked in the Etude House counter at SM. It was heaven!! I am smitten with their make up line, not what with their dainty packaging! I am particularly in love with this product. (see below)

I was able to try this good stuff for a day. It's lightweight and has good oil control. It comes with a brush for an even application. It's a bit pricey though. But compared to other brands, I think this is cheaper by a 100 php.

Occupation: Lawyer School graduated: Far Eastern University, Bachelor of Arts in Pol Sci; Bachelor of Law Age: 37 right Paps? Hahaha!
Question: So how is it like to have a father-lawyer?
JC Pelagio: Well, it's both frustrating and satisfying!! Frustrating, because when we have gimiks to ask permission for, Paps can pull out ALL his reasoning skills in one sitting. It's quite useless to argue with him because arguing and analyzing other people's reason is so, so, so much part of his daily life. I sometimes find myself writing down my reasons in a pad paper so I am fully equipped! Hahaha! Satisfying, since Paps can be really, really galante. Just ask and you shall receive.
Q: How's Atty. Pelagio as a father?
JC: A father during the weekdays, family driver during weekends and a friend at all times.
Q: What's his favorite past time?
JC: Hahaha I am so dead when I share this but Paps often go home late due to his usual videoke nights with his lawyer friends!! You see, he is a big lover of music! And oh, he loves to sleep!
Q: Is he strict?
JC: In terms of what? In gimiks, he can be. So what me and my siblings do is arm ourselves with reasons that can top his. With boyfriend and suitors, not really. As long as you tell him who the guy is. In general, not really.
Q: Being the daddy's girl that you are, why didn't you take up law in college?
JC: That's a classic question from relatives and friends right there!! I have so much respect for Paps and his career. I would like to put it this way.. As an individual, I know my strengths and weaknesses. Given that, I feel that what I have will not be enough to excel in a profession that asks more than what I can give. Di naman sa wala akong tiwala sa sarili ko, but I'm just being real. Besides, I also want to establish a Pelagio in a different field.
Q: Is your dad supportive of your profession?
JC: Yes! He actually talked me into nursing so he really has to support me!! Hahaha! Seriously, I'm thankful that my parents are not impatient with my being unemployed. They trust and support me with my plans.
Q: Any message for your dad?
JC: Hey Paps, I love you!!!

Occupation: Project Managaer, Phil National Red Cross PDAF Department School Graduated: Araullo Lyceum, BS Commerce Age: 52
Question: Your Mom works as?
JC: Mams is currently employed at the Phil National Red Cross as Program Manager under Sen. Gordon's PDAF project. Prior to that, she worked at TLRC.
Q: She's a budding entrepreneur right?
JC: My mom has her heart towards business. She has her own line of laundry soap before. Before, she used to sell clothes and her famous maja blanca! I think she has plans of putting up her own business by next year!
Q: Is your mom strict?
JC: Definitely not!! She can give you her go signal in an instant!
Q: Is there anything you would like to share with everyone about your Mom?
JC: Let me see. Mams loves lipsticks!! She can go out without any powder or eye shadow, but not without lipstick! She is currently trying out ballroom dancing as exercise. She makes the best maja blanca in town!! Mams has issues on my weight. SHE TELLS ME, MAG EXERCISE KA NGA! ANG TABA TABA MO NA! Hahaha!
Q: Are you close to your Mom?
JC: I'm closer to Paps. But it doesn't mean that I don't share issues with Mams. I love them both!

JC: Mams, I know how hard is it to conceive and bear a child and for that, I am so, so, so thankful that you decided to give me life! I love you!!
